The name is an argument: that media are best understood as competition for attention on screens connected to the internet. Phones, tablets, laptops, monitors, television sets—it's all just glass.

  • New feature on Comcast's X1 cable boxes: "a Twitter logo will appear next to the name of any TV show or movie currently trending on Twitter."
      • Meh. But it's worth noting that Comcast can only do this because X1 connects to the internet, unlike many of its competitors. This Twitter integration is just the tip of the iceberg.
      • Cablevision's boxes, which are also web-based, have a more interesting feature that simply shows you the most popular shows airing right now.
